Electric Vehicle Evolution:
Many states and provinces have released Slow Speed Vehicle acts to allow
Golf carts, NEV (Neighborhood Electric Vehicles), UTV (Some street legal
utility vehicles) to drive on public roads (25 mile per hour or less). These
vehicles are labeled STOV, Small Task Orientated Vehicles.

Most original equipment manufacturers do not provide speedometers for
Golf cars, people movers, small utility vehicles, electric powered (or gas
powered) small task vehicles. Applications never required them.

However, with faster "after market modifications", speed and distance are
important to the driver; "How much range do I have?" "Am I exceeding
the speed limit?" "How far did I travel?" What is my BATTERY VOLTAGE?

UNIVERSAL Mounting bracket:
Made from 5051 aluminum with a corrosion resistant clear anodize,
display mounting hardware ans hock mount, with a clamp that will
fit most steering column tubes behind the steering wheel.

OPTIONAL CNC MACHINED Mounting bracket:
Made from 6061-T6 aluminum with a corrosion resistant anodize,
display mounting hardware and display rubber shock mounts, with
stainless steel hardware for a secure fit to steering column tube
behind the steering wheels. Golf Car Specific Sizes - different
diameter steering columns - check your application before ordering.

CNC brackets built after AUGUST 1st, 2011 are CLEAR anodize for
that Brushed Anodized look. Other colors are special order.
NOTE: Blue brackets are in distribution until they are consumed.

TEMPERATURE SENSOR:
Remote Temperature Sensor monitors the electric motor (or gas
powered engine) using a 10mm (5/16") bolt on the electric motors
field coil. This provides warning indicator LEDS to the operator:

AMBER LED for Warning (65'C / 150'F)
Over-temperature LIMIT (75'C / 167'F)

SPEED SENSOR, 10MM BOLT or TAB (SHOWN):
Remote Speed Sensor is positioned near a wheel mounted rotating
magnet. The sensor provides pulses to the EX-RAY computer to
determine speed.

EXTERNAL POWER INPUT:
The EX-RAY has an internal battery but the LED and Back light
display require EXTERNAL Power to operate. Any fused (0.5amp)
12, 24, 36, or 48 volt vehicle power source and will not drain the
vehicle battery. Auto shutdown after a short period of inactivity.
KSI (Key Switch / Ignition) is the best recommended connection.

And then drive...

Driving in the Oregon Siltcoos Sand Dunes Recreational
Area in Western Oregon requires a good cart, and carry
an on board generator in case your stranded.

Knowing how many miles and how long we traveled
was extremely important. The EX-RAY provided motor
temp warnings when the motor got hot, we ate lunch
and waited for the generator to recharge the batteries.

We traveled 16 miles in 8 hours across the sand
dunes, down the ORV approved beach, and traversed
through wash outs. (only on approved pathways
previously washed out by spring storms).

The EX-RAY kept us from overheating our motor or
Alltrax DCX500 Controller.
